I am going to travel to USA, Kansas city, to work at some hotel as...?
....as life guard. And i want to know if is there some thing cool to do in my vacation, or weekends ???. And if is there some outlet for i buy some shoes and cloters for cold ???. I am going in November and back in May. Is it cold or hor there ?? I want to make friends !!!! ahhhh yeah.... I have 20 years. Please give me your e-mail if you want.ohhh sorry my englishÂ´s mistakes !!! Has any soccer field ? Or volleyball ??? The young folks are happy ? What do you do on weekends for fun ??

Kansas City has plenty to do! During the fall season, you can enjoy the atmosphere that the Kansas City Chiefs football team generates (tickets to the games start at about $35, depending on where you sit). You can also enjoy the new Arena Football Team, the Kansas City Bombers (although arena football I believe has wrapped up their season). Aside from sports, you can enjoy The Plaza. The Plaza has lots of stores with fashionable clothing, great places to eat, and tourist attractions since Kansas City has the most water fountains in the world outside of Venice, Italy (a little known fact!). Neighborhoods close to Kansas City offer home town specialties in the food department, especially barbeque (which is a staple and well-known produce of the Kansas City area). Overall, there is a lot to do, and as they renovate downtown, access to everything will be much easier. Enjoy!

To answer your question about the weather...it's cold from November to March. It then starts to warm up and usually by May, it's warm to hot.

What to do in KC: The Plaza, Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, Kemper Center for Contemporary Art, The National WWI Memorial, Crown Center, Kansas City Jazz Clubs, Country Music Bars, Westport bar district, Union Station science center. (there's plenty to do). Weather in KC: While you are there it will be cold, sometimes very cold with snow and ice. By late Feb. to March it will start to warm up. Shopping in KC: For cheap clothes try stores like Wal-Mart and Target. Higher end shopping can be found in the Plaza. Making friends in KC: Get friendly with your co-workers. In American culture it is not uncommon for people you work with to become good friends. Use that as a starting point to grow your circle of friends. You are a foreigner, so that will work in your favor, as we Americans find it hard to resist an accent, any accent! Since your 20, that will be a not great thing, since 21 is the legal drinking age, and is a strictly enforced law. This means you won't get into many bars and clubs and cannot buy alcohol in stores. You can go to a bar/restaurant early without a problem, but around 22:00-23:00, the staff comes around and will have anyone under 21 or without ID leave. I know, it sucks and is kinda stupid, but it is our way. Enjoy your stay in the Midwest! You'll have a much more American experience in KC than in New York or California.

Soccer is only just now starting to catch on here. In the US in general Volley ball is usually a summer sport unless you live along the beaches of the Southeast or California. BUT some gyms have it here. You'll just have to look around for one near you when you get here...<my suggestion. Not only are there things to do IN KC, but in the _surrounding_ areas, too. Just to the northeast of KC (about 16 miles) is Smithville Lake where, even in the colder months you can enjoy varied outdoor activities in several County Parks which offer access to the lake and also from the surrounding Army Corps of Engineers natural woodlands. ENJOY your stay here! :D EDIT:As one answerer warned you, the legal age to drink alcohol here in the US is 21 so you're going to have to depend upon the suggestion of making friends with co-workers and going to places like Union Station and other cultural areas, etc. Another word of warning about a somewhat crazy law that we have here concerns the age of your friends. It's best to keep your friendships with people 18 or over. I know, it's weird, but the way it has become. Sad, but true.
