About How do the carriage rides work in Kansas City
How do the carriage rides work in Kansas City?
Are there pickup spots? Do you need a reservation? Will they take you anywhere? Thanks. ( I want to go from Union Station to the Crown Center, or if they are really close, maybe just ride around afterwards)

The horse drawn carriages are pretty much on the Country Club Plaza only. There are two companies running carriages in the Plaza, each with their own streetside stop. You might be able to reserve one (perhaps a good idea on a busy night), but for the most part you step up to the booth, pay your money, and enjoy the ride. If I have entirely misinterpreted your question, please say so. By the way, Union Station and Crown Center are indeed very close, and in fact they are connected by an elevated, glass enclosed skywalk called "the Link", which affords a nice view of the Liberty Memorial as you walk between the two. This same walkway also connect the nearby Hyatt regency and other buildings.

About How much of my paycheck can I keep? I work in Kansas City, Missouri
How much of my paycheck can I keep? I work in Kansas City, Missouri.?
I'm working at a new job in Kansas City, Missouri, and I'd like to put together a budget, but I'm not sure how much money I'll have to actually work with. Is there a good way to figure out what percentage will be taken from my paycheck to pay federal taxes, state taxes, social security, etc... ?

Answer 1 :
you can keep all of your actual paycheck
Answer 2 :
No way to tell with the info you give. You'd need to say how much you are making, your filing status and whether you have any dependents, and a lot more about your personal situation than you have given. Figure you'll probably lose 30% or so of your check to taxes. It could be more or less than that, depending on your situation.
Answer 3 :
Figure you will keep 63%

About Does anyone go to or work the Kansas City Renaissance Festival
Does anyone go to or work the Kansas City Renaissance Festival?
I'll be in Kansas at the time of the Kansas City Renaissance Festival and was wondering if anyone had any comments about it. It looks pretty awesome from what I've seen online, but I'd like some first hadn accounts. Does anyone work the fair - as a merchant or a helper? I'm highly interested in that area, so input would be great! Thank you very much.

I don't work there but I've got a few friends that work it every year and they absolutely love it. I've been 4-5 times and have a blast everytime. Usually end up spending the entire day there. It's really the only way to do it. The last time I went I took my kids and they loved loved loved it. So I'm sure when I move back to the area, we'll be going again and again.
